Morgan Healthcare Conference taking place in San Francisco, California. The Company will highlight these data and other recent progress in a presentation at 1:30 p.m. 09, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Tessera Therapeutics, the biotechnology company pioneering a new approach in genetic medicine known as Gene Writing™, today announced advancements across its Gene Writing™ and non-viral delivery platforms including data demonstrating the potential of Gene Writers™ to write therapeutic messages in the genome of non-human primates (NHPs), to generate tumor-clearing chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells by all-RNA delivery, and the ability to target non-viral delivery systems to hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and T cells. Morgan 41 st Annual Healthcare Conference on January 9 th, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Proprietary LNP platform demonstrates the ability to deliver to hematopoietic stem cells and T cells in vivo in both mice and non-human primates. DNA Gene Writing™ platform promotes sustained and high levels of transgene expression in non-human primates, potentially extending the reach of conventional AAV-based gene therapy.RNA Gene Writers™ demonstrate programmable writing to facilitate targeted DNA integration and ability to make small and large changes at the same time in human cells.RNA Gene Writing™ platform generates tumor-clearing CAR T cells by all-RNA delivery.RNA Gene Writing™ platform demonstrates clinically relevant levels of in vivo rewriting in the genome of liver cells of non-human primates following a single administration.I'm sure there are other functions within the company that are better to work in, though. Look elsewhere if you really care about research. I get that any company needs hierarchal structure, but to claim to be on the "cutting edge" of LNP research while restricting your research talent from innovation? Their platform will end up average at best. Instead I got questions like "How do you fare working in a lab for most hours of the day?" and "How do you approach strict goals and timelines from leadership?" The latter question was hilariously followed up with a comment suggesting that as research scientists, we should not expect much autonomy over our work at Tessera. Instead, I was simply ushered through the motions of an interview panel during which not a single person asked me about my unique LNP research experience, or about how I would go about doing, I don't know, the actual job they're hiring for. The intention of screening an employee for a critical, early research function should be to really learn how the candidate operates and where their strengths and weaknesses are. That alone was enough to imply that Tessera might not have amazing company culture. However, instead of rescheduling, I was still expected to give my seminar and go through the remaining interview process without ever talking to the hiring manager again, and he never personally rescheduled a chat either. On the day of my seminar/individual interviews, the hiring manager had a personal emergency and was not available for the sessions (understandably so). This is when it became evident that Tessera's inner workings were questionable at best. Initially, the interview process was standard and went as expected (phone screen with the hiring manager, then a remote seminar + individual interviews). Interview I interviewed at Tessera for a lipid nanoparticle research role with interesting career growth opportunities. ![]()
